During its annual hardware event, Amazon introduced its very first Fire TV Soundbar and started accepting pre-orders for the upgraded Fire TV Stick 4K and TV Stick 4K Max. The company also shared some neat improvements for its Fire TV operating system, which will be available later in 2023.

The new Fire TV Soundbar is priced at just $120 and comes with virtualized Dolby Atmos and Bluetooth connectivity. It's worth mentioning that this soundbar is relatively compact, measuring only 24 inches wide and weighing less than five pounds. It has two speaker drivers, but there's something unusual about its ports. The Fire TV Soundbar connects to your TV through an HDMI eARC port, but it doesn't have any extra HDMI inputs. This means you'll have to give up one of your TV's HDMI ports for the Fire TV Soundbar, which might not be ideal for everyone. One more thing to note is that the Fire TV Soundbar doesn't have Alexa built into it, but that shouldn't be an issue if you already have a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick.

Amazon has updated its Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen), making it better than the older version. It's faster and has a stronger Wi-Fi 6 connection. They also released the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), which has even better Wi-Fi 6E and a feature called Ambient Experience, where you can display your photos and cool AI artwork on your TV.

Both of these new Fire TV Sticks also support good picture and sound quality with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos.

Later this year, Amazon will make the Fire TV software smarter. Alexa, the voice assistant, will be more helpful in finding shows and movies. You can ask her specific questions like "find shows like 'Better Call Saul'," and she will understand. They will also add a "Continue Watching" section to your home screen, which is similar to what other streaming platforms already have.

You can buy the Fire TV Soundbar now for $120. The better Fire TV Stick 4K and TV Stick 4K Max can be reserved for $50 and $60, and they will start shipping on September 29th. Amazon hasn't told us when the new Fire TV software updates will be available.
