Today, the new Fitbit Charge 6 is out, surprising us with some cool additions. It's got things like Google Maps on your wrist, control for YouTube Music, and even a way to pay with Google Wallet. Plus, it's made some upgrades to the health and fitness tracking stuff we liked in the Fitbit Charge 5. You can buy the Fitbit Charge 6 today for $160 on the Fitbit website.

In the past, only Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches had Google Maps on their wrist. Now, it's great news that this feature is available on the Charge 6. You can plan your route on your phone and see directions on your fitness tracker. The new Google Wallet integration is also a good reason for Charge 5 users to think about upgrading because the old Fitbit Pay feels a bit old-fashioned.

You can use these new features when your Fitbit Charge 6 is connected to your phone. But remember, if you want to control YouTube Music from your wrist, you'll need to pay $11 a month for a premium YouTube Music subscription. For most people, it might be better to go for YouTube Premium at $14 per month, as it not only gives you premium Music but also ad-free YouTube.

The Fitbit Charge 6 comes with some great health and fitness improvements. Google claims that the heart rate sensor in the Charge 6 is better than any other Fitbit tracker except their smartwatches. This means it can give you more accurate heart rate readings, especially during tough workouts like rowing or HIIT, compared to the older model. Plus, if your gym has modern equipment that supports Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile, the Charge 6 can share your heart rate with those machines.

It has other cool features too, like tracking your sleep, ECG, measuring SpO2 (a measure of your blood oxygen levels), and of course, keeping tabs on your sleep patterns. If you're a Fitbit Premium member, you get even more features like the Daily Readiness Score. The battery lasts around 7 hours, and you can wear it while swimming since it's water-resistant up to 50 meters. The Charge 6 doesn't have any fancy new sensors, though.

You can buy the Fitbit Charge 6 today for $160. It also includes a six-month trial of Fitbit Premium. If you've liked using other Fitbit fitness trackers before, this is a good upgrade. However, if you want more features like controlling Spotify, you might want to consider getting the Fitbit Sense 2 or Versa 4 smartwatch.
